Abby Martin on Haiti's Century of Coups, Invasions & Puppets

Possibly the majority of migrants here in Tupachala, Mexico, are Haitian. The queue of people applying for asylum here in Mexico is around a thousand long, every day it's open, and while queuing to be admitted into the compound they have no police protection that I aw the day I was there. That day a man with a knife was driven away by a few of those queueuing. The police turned up half an hour later. That isn't good enough protection for migrants applying for asylum, given what's been going on in Haiti recently.

That might explain the murals I mention in my recent untitled post , just before the post mentioning this video. I also just took this photo of Rafael Gonzales, born here in Tecate, B.C., who told me about a spring near here called Agua Fría , half way from Tecate to Loma Tova , where, a few decades ago, people used to go to have barbecues and stuff, but now he thinks it may be private land.
