2018 Google talk which shows that they don't see you can go up: witness the discussion about palettes and themes at the end (16:10). Those are just varous different languages for describing sets of colours. And you need another language to connect different sets of colours to different syntactic constructs.

Now look what the people at YouTube have done. If you pause a video to read some screen text then it dims the display and so you can stop it moving, but you can't see it properly. I guess nobody thinks that people might want to pause a video and look at the image.
