Note that in that talk by Jennifer Nagel she talks about multi-modal sensory integration (12:16) and how this forms a prototype for a super-agent which can then act on the basis of the combined senses, and that this is what goes on in conversation. She then goes on to say that the dyadic form of language use is the one we learn first when we acquire a mother tongue.
