It's about something called Above Threshold Ionization and was part of the 2023 Nobel Prize. I am posting this because I was reading about Kirchhoff's law of thermal radiation, where there is a claim that "Historically, Planck derived the black body radiation law and detailed balance according to a classical thermodynamic argument, with a single heuristic step, which was later interpreted as a quantization hypothesis."

I was struck by the similarity of the experimental setups: resonant cavities with pinholes (15:50).
