On The State of the World

People like Richard Murphy and Chris Hedges who think they know the state of the world by listening to the BBC and watching YouTube are misguided. That's not the state of the world, that's a mechanism for creating consensus about the state of the world, and it is a damaging one. There are much better ways to create consensus but people are so busy worrying about the state of the world they don't have any cognitive capacity to think about alternatives. It's a self-sustaining storm of nonsense. The sad fact is that we are collectively incapable of doing anything that does not generate a financial profit for someone. Using Pipewire to Make A Music Synthesizer

Usually you don't notice, but if you play a pure sine tone then you can easily hear the distortion. If you want to play with pipewire from C on Ubuntu 24.04 then it's really easy. The pipewire tutorials and examples can be compiled and run if you just first install the pipewire-0.3-dev package with sudo apt install libpipewire-0.3-dev But the API is sooo far away from pluggable, typed streams that I find it quite depressing.
