Crisis in Perception - An Example of a Common Problem

It's not just water, this happens with gasoline too. Ask an Iranian. But there are many, many, many equally dumb things people do all over the world. The problem is most of them are considered "part of the way of life" in whatever society in which they occur, and nobody wants to change their way of life.

Using Pipewire to Make A Music Synthesizer

Usually you don't notice, but if you play a pure sine tone then you can easily hear the distortion. If you want to play with pipewire from C on Ubuntu 24.04 then it's really easy. The pipewire tutorials and examples can be compiled and run if you just first install the pipewire-0.3-dev package with sudo apt install libpipewire-0.3-dev But the API is sooo far away from pluggable, typed streams that I find it quite depressing.
