Distributed Multi-Player Games

I found out how two or more players can do block-mining together,... Apparently it's quite laggy because of the amount of server traffic. 

My last message didn't get through though,... 

The game I wrote ran on two BBC computers connected by the RS423 serial interface, so there was a limit to the amount of data they could exchange and still be fast enough to do interactive graphics. I didn't notice any problems with latency though, it seemed pretty seamless. 

Gamify, shopify, what's the difference? See Add Calcined Anthracite To Block Mining Simulation Game. I wanted to pay him to redesign the protocol so that the server just shared the initial game state and thereafter relayed the relative moves to each connected client,...  But it's not on the shopify menu,...

Using Pipewire to Make A Music Synthesizer

Usually you don't notice, but if you play a pure sine tone then you can easily hear the distortion. If you want to play with pipewire from C on Ubuntu 24.04 then it's really easy. The pipewire tutorials and examples can be compiled and run if you just first install the pipewire-0.3-dev package with sudo apt install libpipewire-0.3-dev But the API is sooo far away from pluggable, typed streams that I find it quite depressing.
