I didn't see this until today, ...
David was thinking about Cripps Pink apples, ... I am glad I wasn't, because it would have made me angry. Most people in the UK think they're the best apples. There are literally hundreds of varieties of apple which grow in the England, but the UK imports most most of the apples they eat, because in the UK, most people buy their groceries from one of half a dozen chains of supermarkets which buy products in bulk and distribute them around the country by road transport for sale in large out-of-town supermarkets. Of course you can't import most of your apples from aboad and drive to out-of-town supermarkets to buy them without cheap petrol, so that's the British way of life that is under threat and which requires them to maintain conflict in the middle-east to keep oil prices down. But you won't hear this from Alastair Crooke:
