Quotes from this Filmmaker interview by Stuart Swezey, from 1997: “There’s So Much Darkness, So Much Room to Dream”: David Lynch on Lost Highway. The interviewer mentions a famous unsolved Hollywood murder mystery: that of Elizabeth Short:

That bit of the interview is weird! The nickname "Black Dahlia" was possibly an allusion to a 1946 movie The Blue Dahlia with a screenplay written by Raymond Chandler.

So this Black/Blue symmetry in Alannah Myles' video was deliberate:

This reminds me of the bizarre murder of Arlis Perry in a chapel at Stanford University in 1974.

That might explain the murals I mention in my recent untitled post , just before the post mentioning this video. I also just took this photo of Rafael Gonzales, born here in Tecate, B.C., who told me about a spring near here called Agua Fría , half way from Tecate to Loma Tova , where, a few decades ago, people used to go to have barbecues and stuff, but now he thinks it may be private land.
