David Lynch Talks About Who Inspired Him

He says it was a place. Philadelphia. I was inspired by being in a place: Bolivia. But I think it was more than just the geography. I think it was the people together with the place. In particular I think it was the women. I think the women in Bolivia are a physical, mental manifestation of the earth goddess Gaia, who they call The Pachamama. In Bolivia, the Pachamama is associated with witchcraft and witches. In Greece too, I think Aristotle's philosophy was associated with witchcraft and women. I have often wondered whether the works of Aristotle were in fact written by women.
