Yesterday I was thinking about those electric shocks that people sometimes give each other when they touch, and the electric charges that build up and make a spark when you touch your car. And I thought about the effect of positive and negative electrically charged surfaces containing chiral molecules, and how those PCR tests are done (I don't actually anything about he machines they use in the labs) and how people used to think that the quality of the beam at CERN depended on who was the engineer on duty that day, and all this made me think that we may have meade a very fundamental assumption in our basic laboratory practice and that we may have in fact being doing some very weird bio-chemistry.
