FDR's (5th!) cousin Theodore Roosevelt met with John Muir at least once, in the 1890s I think. They spent many hours together in Yosemite and their discussions led to the first National Parks being established in America. You can read John Muir's posthumously published collection of essays here: Steep Trails by John Muir. Between 2005 and 2008 I hand-bound around thirty copies of this book and sent them to various friends of mine around the world whom I thought might appreciate it.

That might explain the murals I mention in my recent untitled post , just before the post mentioning this video. I also just took this photo of Rafael Gonzales, born here in Tecate, B.C., who told me about a spring near here called Agua Fría , half way from Tecate to Loma Tova , where, a few decades ago, people used to go to have barbecues and stuff, but now he thinks it may be private land.
