Well, I don't have any musical instruments, but I have a nice quality Apple USB keyboard, and I  thought maybe, if Apple's electronics are up to it, this keyboard will do n-key rollover and somebody has figured out a clever way to put piano keys onto it, so that I can use it with things like https://www.tonegym.co/tool/item?id=scale-analyser because I was learning about the line of fifths: 

But I don't have a keyboard, and the tonegym doesn't have a keyboard interface, AFAICS. So I googled "usb midi keyboard hack 3d printed piano keys" and the first thing I got was this 2015 Hackaday prize piece: https://hackaday.com/2015/07/12/3d-printed-modular-keyboard/ about this project: https://hackaday.io/project/6737-modular-synthesizer-controller-keyboard-case. So that's the plastic, but there's no electronics, ... and how should the software work? That's the levelling-up that we need to do, I think.
