Sabine Hossenfelder on Politicians and AI
She points out that Palantir got a huge contract from the NHS to overhaul their data systems. She gives a link to a NYT article entitled Palantir Wins Major U.K. Health Contract Despite Criticism saying "The Peter Thiel-owned company overcame opposition from activists, doctors and lawmakers to sign a lucrative deal with England’s National Health Service." I would give the link, but the NYT asks you to sign in and then says that you can't see the article without subscribing. The URL is https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/21/business/palantir-nhs-uk-health-contract-thiel.html
Instead, you can look at these BMJ pieces: Palantir gets £480m contract to run NHS data platform and NHS England must cancel its contract with Palantir.
Politicians think that more money will solve problems. Even Evo Morales believes that.
