Angela Collier on Why Functioning Governments Fund Scientific Research

It's true that we don't know where the science will go, but it seems that some of it gets applied too quickly by corporations motivated more by profit than by helping people live, and then we end up with people getting sick because they're being poisoned by bad drugs. These are the ones with commercials that say Common Side Effects, ... and then they get sold more drugs with more side effects. And the government pays for these and the research. So there's Science, and there's science, ... and there's SpaceX, ... that's why it's called crapitalism.

I also just took this photo of Rafael Gonzales, born here in Tecate, B.C., who told me about a spring near here called Agua Fría , half way from Tecate to Loma Tova , where, a few decades ago, people used to go to have barbecues and stuff, but now he thinks it may be private land.
