Paul Stamets interview by Dennis McKenna from a few days ago, entitled "Mushrooms, AI and the Human Spirit". He has published a new book: Psilocybin Mushrooms in Their Natural Habitats. It's not on sale in the UK, you have to order it from the US.

1:05:18 On collecting specimens: see iNaturalist.

1:08:13 On the role of Kew Gardens in the introduction of Psilocybe cyanescens to Europe via Rhodedendrons. See also Fabulous fungi: the illustrations of Elsie M. Wakefield. See also iNaturalist page https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/179085-Psilocybe-cyanescens.

1:13:43 He sums it up: "I ultimately believe Psilocybin makes nicer, more intelligent people." Well, that's why we don't want it around here! See https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2005/1653: EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM TO THE MISUSE OF DRUGS (AMENDMENT) (NO. 2) REGULATIONS 2005 - 2005 No. 1653 AND THE MISUSE OF DRUGS (DESIGNATION) (AMENDMENT) ORDER 2005 - 2005 No. 1652:

Psilocin and psilocybin are hallucinogens which work on the same pharmacological principle as LSD. The United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances 1971 places psilocin in Schedule 1, the highest level of control. It has long been designated as having no recognised medicinal use. The Order extends the designation as there is no recognised medicinal use for magic mushrooms.
