This research is based on tiny, tiny samples of the currently existing biodiversity. Countries like Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and Brazil have vast biomes that would almost certainly yield new species of plants that have these hyper accumulator properties. But these countries are being forced to ignore long-term benefits in favour of short-term necessities such as generating foreign exchange income to meet trade deficits.
