John Campbell on the UK Biobank Dataset and the BBC
The UK Biobank Dataset was a useful resource for a study which produced at least one useful result, which was accidentally reported by the BBC. That's why they decided they needed to make one owned by the pharmaceutical industry and put the Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University in charge of it: UK NHS Sponsored Charity "Our Future Health". Maybe there's some arbitrage in the valuation of risk that can be exploited here: Indy Johar - Civilizational Optioneering.

And for some more on journalism: Private Eye Interview - Toxic lead in the UK: Laura Hughes, Financial Times - Paul Foot Award Nominee 2025. That's such a great idea. Have awards for investigative journalism so people know that it's a thing.
My comment:
If she gets bored with lead then she can look into mildew and mold. It might be a refreshing change to deal with wholly organic toxins. Then if that gets boring, there's the wheat thing. Tesco are doing an amazing Aldi price match to make people feel rich when they buy two pounds of disgusting fusili for only £1.25. Then she could write about shrinkflation which is when people spend more on personal therapy than they do on their groceries.

Don't know what that spike at the end of July was, because they've turned off all other analytics like country, referrer etc., but they were never worth much anyway.
