Gigi Young - Cosmic Spirituality

See my comment:

Hi Gigi, I really enjoy hearing you talk about these beings, even though I have never seen them. In mathematics there are abstract things, like numbers, for example, which have characteristics like oddness and evenness, which make sense even when people have great difficulty defining precisely what numbers actually are. Some mathematicians talk about things called, literally undefined objects. These objects have properties which make sense even when what they concretely are is completely unknowable. So when I hear you talking about these beings that I have never known I still find it interesting because there is outward sense to them that slowly emerges like seeing an artist drawing the pencil outline of a fantastical creature. I have similar experiences with mathematics too. What are initially very vague, very abstract ideas defined by a few axioms, start to become real as their characteristics are revealed. In mathematics this process usually involves proofs, which are sequences of logical deductions in the form of written or spoken words and these proofs are like stories. So what you present in your lectures is not very much different to mathematics, for me. And often when I hear you talk about things I get the same feeling I get when I hear about mathematics being applied to real world problems, and then I see that what you are really doing is a kind of spiritual communications engineering and that is an absolute delight! Thank you for this.

... in particular the part at 9:03 about top-down causality. The way I understand this is that we will have great leaders just as soon as we stop trying to disrupt the natural cosmic consciousness which I believe is just a condition of there being meaning and intent in the Universe. When Searle talks about lower-level biological processes he does not mean just processes in the brain and the central nervous system. Those lower level processes include the enteric nervous system and the gut microbiome which are connected to the planetary microbiome and which Lori andI believe are probably connected to planetary nebulae.
