I Asked Google A Personal Question, ...
I said "Why is google so crap in Bolivia?"
It replied:
Based on user experiences and reports, Google services (Search, Maps, Play Store) can feel suboptimal in Bolivia due to a combination of poor local infrastructure, limited local support, and regional technical restrictions.
Key reasons for this include:
- Poor Internet Quality: Slow, unstable, and congested internet connections are common in Bolivia, which severely impacts the speed and reliability of Google Search.
- Lack of Local Data and Support: Bolivia has limited localized data for Maps and services, and the country is often not a priority for Google, leading to less accurate or missing information.
- Payment and Access Restrictions: Users in Bolivia often find that international cards are declined on the Google Play Store, requiring local payment methods.
- Technical Issues: Reports indicate that even when using decent, local Wi-Fi, services like the Play Store or updating offline packs for Maps can become stuck or unusable.
- Limited Infrastructure Development: As one of the less developed countries in the region, the overall technological infrastructure is less advanced compared to North America or Europe, affecting how cloud-based services like Google's function.
So there you go! The future of AI in Bolivia is ... well, I don't know, ask AI I guess!
If you want to know, it's because nobody who has any influence at Google has ever lived in a country like Bolivia, so they know nothing about the economy or the culture, or anything. That's why you don't care that your web apps are full of bugs and don't work properly when the network bandwidth and latency are below par. You don't even bother to test them, and it's your crappy web apps that are actually most of the reason why the bandwidth and latency of the networks are inadequate!
