Cochalawood Imillaskate Sizzle-reel

This is some classy film-making going on (especially the deja vu at 2:42). It was filmed 14 Sept 2020, after I left for La Paz. See Yet Another Blog (15 Sept 2020).

The skate park is Parque Urbano Ollantay, not too far from the place where I got bitten by a dog in April 2011. Nearby there is a long avenue called 27 de mayo which is lined with busts of Bolivia's military heroes through history, though many of them have been partly destroyed and many are missing. It was not lit at night, and there were dogs and homeless encampments in the bushes. At the top is a monument to Las Heroinas de la Coronilla:

I always thought of it as a monument to La Patria and to me it seemed somehow opposite, in many ways, to the concrete Cristo de la Concordia which stands much higher on the other side of the city. See Born on The Street – Los hijos olvidados de Cochabamba and Juan Enrique Jurado - La Patria.

This was for 6 Agosto, 2023:

It's taken them to New York! See Bolivia’s Cholita skaters ImillaSkate fight for gender equality and indigenous pride with clothing.

4:07 The guy filming this sequence must've been on roller skates or something!
