Dianna Cowern Step By Step Beginning To Convince Me That We Do In Fact Live in A Multiverse

Maybe it's only a Multiverse from my point of view, ... See Geometry, Physics, Philosophy and Politics With Dianna and Elizabeth And Friends and Thanksgiving Ramble.

Here's an email I sent to her on October 9, but to which I received no reply.

Dear Dianna,

Today I had a great idea for a physics video. It's related to a puzzle I've been thinking about for decades, since I was a kid in England doing ''A-level'' physics (I guess that's equivalent to high school physics, age 15-16? The question I had, which my physics text books didn't seem to address satisfactorily, to me, was this: what is the microscopic mechanism for the phenomenon of neutral-buoyancy that you observe when you weigh down a child's helium balloon and let it explore the thermal currents in a closed room. You've seen that, right? Just fill a balloon with Helium or Hydrogen and weigh it down with a lump of blu-tac or something until it floats in mid-air. In a closed room without too many draughts, the balloon will move about gently and slowly as it explores the isotherms in the room. I used to do this at my ex-wife's mother's house, which had very large rooms, and it used to drive her dog *crazy,* because the balloon looks like a living thing as it moves about. Because of this, the dog was probably the strongest thermal energy generator in the room, and that is likely what made it so interesting, ...

The explanation has several parts, connected, I think, to Aristotle's four physical causes. One part involves Gauss' law (flux theorem) see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gauss%27s_law that is the formal cause. Another part is the kinetic theory of gases: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinetic_theory_of_gases which is the efficient cause. Then there is the material cause, which is explained at least in part by Archimedes' Principle: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archimedes%27_principle The final part is the bit I'm most interested in, ... which is the final cause. That has a connection with modern physics through Variational Principles such as Lagrange's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euler%E2%80%93Lagrange_equation

And there is an artistic element too, which is this awesome short that was on the Dust channel yesterday: https://eternaldoorman.blogspot.com/2021/10/sci-fi-fantasy-short-film-lhomme-est-le.html

So maybe we could get David Lynch interested in it too. I have been trying to make contact with him for years now. See https://eternaldoorman.blogspot.com/2021/10/david-lynchs-weather-report_9.html

I am in Tecate, Mexico. Not too far from you. See https://eternaldoorman.blogspot.com/2021/10/tecate.html  I cannot get across the border except by flying! Really! It's because I have a British passport and they only allow Brits in if they fly, ... But US citizens can cross with no trouble. So, would you or one of your crew be able to come to Tecate and talk to me about it? It would only need a few hours and they could record a conversation. I have no mobile phone, so they would have to bring something to record.

I guess you don't know who I am. I am a British national (but born in Zimbabwe, Africa) and I have spent the last year travelling up here from Cochabamba, Bolivia. I have no bank account, no credit card, no mobile phone, ... and I live by begging in the street, which is challenging, ... and I really need some help. I hold a first class BA honors degree in Mathematical Sciences from the Open University in England, and I also have a Masters degree from Cambridge, but that is just an honorific thing and doesn't mean much, except that I spent fifteen years working for the University of Cambridge in England until I moved to Bolivia, ... and therein lies a story or two, ...

I'm a big fan of your videos, and Jade's upandatom videos, ... and I have an abiding interest in education, especially by and for women. There's a lot more I could say on that, ... but I'll leave that for later otherwise this will get too long. But here's a bit of it: maybe start around Page 17: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9MgWvi9mywhN01WTHF2RmpTOWtGYlR4VjdQaWhEQlBFWHJN/view?usp=sharing&resourcekey=0-PtHdDwStHdHEHdimbIkCLg

Please please please reply to this soon! I have ccéd my other e-mail a/c so maybe reply to both addresses and that will enhance my chances of getting the reply, ...

Best wishes

Ian Grant
