When I was trying, some time in 1992, to level up my mathematics, I started to think about why squaring any rational was a piece of cake, and so you could draw the graph of x-squared almost without effort, but drawing the graph of  the square root of x was really hard, unless you just geometrically flipped the graph of x-squared about the line y=x. I also just took this photo of Rafael Gonzales, born here in Tecate, B.C., who told me about a spring near here called Agua Fría , half way from Tecate to Loma Tova , where, a few decades ago, people used to go to have barbecues and stuff, but now he thinks it may be private land.
